WIMO generally recommends the use of tongs driven via self-locking trapezoidal spindles. This type of drive system eliminates the falling of loads in case of incorrect operation. As a result of the numerous accidents with chain and rack driven telescopic tongs WIMO has developed
a load arrestor. Accidents can even be prevented if not self-locking tong drives are equipped with this innovative development.
Coil Tong Specification
- Existing tongs can be retrofitted.
- The existing drive system (chain or rack) need not be reinforced since they are not exposed to any stress in case of any incorrect operation as described above.
- Our equipment does not use a system of interlocking fixing devices but works absolutely infinitely. And this ensures its optimal safety.
